Genus and similar species information
Diplacothrips is a genus with only two described species, one from Peru and one from Brazil. Both have a D-shaped pelta, without lateral wings, which is an uncommon shape among Idolothripinae. Besides that, both Diplacothrips species do not have the metathoracic sternopleural sutures and their tube is relatively short, without long setae laterally.
