Species described from Sri Lanka, also occurring on Northern Australia, Georgia, Guam, India, Japan and Taiwan. In the American continent, it was recorded from Florida and Hawaii (United States), Cuba and Brazil.

Life history

Feeds on leaves of several grasses. In Brazil, it was recorded from Glycine max (Fabaceae), Panicum sp. (Poaceae) and other unidentified grasses (Lima et al. 2018).
