Until now, our knowledge about galling tripes in the Neotropical region was practically limited to a dozen Tubulifera species of the genus Holopothrips and other related groups.
In a recent study, more than 20 new species of Holopothrips have been described, inducing galls in the leaves of several plants, some of them of economic importance.
Besides all images and information of the species and their galls, this work also provides an identification key for more than 50 species of this group.
